Where Is Imran Khan? Health Rumours Spark Online Panic as Sisters Assaulted Outside Adiala Jail

Imran Khan

Uncertainty over former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s condition has intensified, triggering a wave of rumours and concern across social media. The situation escalated when his three sisters were allegedly assaulted by police while trying to meet him outside Adiala Jail.

In the past 24 hours, several social media accounts from Pakistan and Afghanistan have pushed unverified claims suggesting that Imran Khan has died inside the prison. While there is no official confirmation, the silence from authorities has only deepened speculation.

Sisters Claim They Were Attacked by Police

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders said Imran’s sisters — Noreen Niazi, Aleema Khan and Dr Uzma Khan — were waiting outside Adiala Jail when police confronted them.

According to Noreen Niazi, the siblings were staging a peaceful protest to express concern about Imran Khan’s health. She said they were not blocking roads or creating any disturbance.

Despite this, she claimed the streetlights were suddenly switched off, and within minutes, police personnel launched a violent attack.

“At the age of 71, I was grabbed by my hair, thrown to the ground and dragged across the road,” Noreen said, adding that she suffered visible injuries during the assault.

She also alleged that several women present at the site were slapped and dragged by the police.

PTI Supporters Gather in Protest

As news of the clash spread, thousands of PTI supporters gathered outside Adiala Jail, demanding answers and protesting what they called the “unlawful treatment” of their leader.

Noreen accused the police of repeatedly using excessive force against peaceful protesters over the past three years, calling their behaviour “illegal, immoral and a violation of democratic principles.”

Meeting Ban Continues

The government has reportedly barred visitors from meeting Imran Khan inside the jail for over a month. He has been imprisoned since August 2023 in multiple cases.

Just days ago, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi was denied a meeting with Khan despite making seven attempts. PTI alleges that jail authorities are acting under instructions from military officials.

Rumours Grow, No Clarity Yet

With no fresh statements from the government or prison officials, confusion continues to grow. The combination of police action against the sisters, the meeting ban, and increasing secrecy around Khan’s condition has fuelled widespread anxiety.

For now, Imran Khan’s exact situation remains unclear — and Pakistan is watching closely.
