Prabhas has kicked off his return to the big screen with an impressive opening as The Raja Saab made a strong statement at the box office on its first day. The horror comedy opened to packed theatres in key markets, especially across Telugu-speaking regions, setting the tone for what could be a solid theatrical run.
According to early industry estimates, the film collected around ₹45 crore net in India on Day 1 across all languages. When combined with paid previews that brought in roughly ₹9.15 crore, the worldwide opening figure stands at an estimated ₹54.15 crore. These numbers underline the star power Prabhas continues to command, even in a genre shift.
Strong start in Telugu states
The film performed best in the Telugu market, where overall occupancy touched over 57 percent. Morning shows began on a decent note, but footfalls grew steadily through the day. Evening shows crossed 57 percent occupancy, while night shows surged to nearly 70 percent, reflecting strong word-of-mouth and fan-driven turnout.
Hindi collections were comparatively lower, with overall occupancy hovering around 15 percent. However, even here, the trend was upward, with night shows recording noticeably better attendance than the morning slots. Tamil Nadu also delivered a reasonable response, with average occupancy crossing 22 percent and night shows nearing the 30 percent mark.
Audience response and performance trend
Trade analysts observed that The Raja Saab gained momentum as the day progressed. Evening and late-night shows performed significantly better than earlier screenings, particularly in premium formats and urban centres. Dolby Cinema Telugu shows also registered encouraging occupancy, suggesting growing interest beyond core fan shows.

Cast, direction, and early reviews
Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab features Prabhas in a lighter, more flamboyant role, backed by a strong supporting cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Boman Irani, Riddhi Kumar, and Zarina Wahab.
Early reviews have highlighted Prabhas’s relaxed screen presence and comic timing as the film’s biggest strengths. Critics note that his charm and confidence carry several sequences, although some portions reportedly slow down due to extended star-focused moments.
With a solid opening day behind it and positive traction in its core markets, The Raja Saab now heads into the crucial weekend phase, where sustained audience interest will determine its long-term box office performance.
