New Delhi, July 1, 2025:
In a major digital push, the Ministry of Railways has officially launched RailOne, a next-generation mobile application designed to simplify and enhance the train travel experience for millions of passengers. Launched by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi, the app brings all essential railway services under one digital platform—accessible now on both Android Play Store and iOS App Store.
What is RailOne?
RailOne, developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), is India’s most comprehensive rail app to date. Unlike earlier fragmented services, RailOne combines everything from live train tracking and ticket bookings to grievance redressal and porter hiring—all in one place.
“RailOne offers a modern, intuitive, and all-in-one experience for rail passengers. It eliminates the need to download multiple apps,” said a Railway Ministry spokesperson.
Key Features of RailOne App
- ✅ Live Train Tracking: Real-time updates to know your train’s exact location.
- ✅ 3% Discount on unreserved and platform ticket bookings.
- ✅ Integrated Services: Book porters, taxis, access e-catering and more.
- ✅ Single Sign-On: Easy login with mPIN or biometric verification.
- ✅ Seamless Credentials: Supports UTS and RailConnect logins.
- ✅ R-Wallet: Built-in digital wallet for faster transactions.
IRCTC will continue to handle reserved ticket bookings, but RailOne is IRCTC-authorized, much like existing third-party ticketing apps.
How to Use RailOne
- Download the RailOne app from Google Play or iOS App Store.
- Log in using mPIN, biometrics, or your UTS/RailConnect credentials.
- Access all services—unreserved tickets, platform bookings, complaints, tracking, catering, and more—from a single dashboard.
Major Railway Updates Effective July 1, 2025
In addition to the RailOne launch, the Railway Ministry has rolled out several key reforms:
1. Mandatory Aadhaar-Linked IRCTC IDs
Passengers must now use Aadhaar-verified IRCTC IDs for Tatkal and emergency bookings to prevent agent misuse and ticket hoarding.
2. Revised Reservation Chart Timing
The first reservation chart will now be prepared 8 hours before a train’s departure, instead of the previous 4-hour window.
3. Fare Revisions
- 📈 Non-AC Mail/Express: ₹0.01 per km increase
- 📈 AC Classes: ₹0.02 per km increase
- 🛑 No change for suburban services, 2nd-class trips under 500 km, or monthly season tickets.
📢 The Future of Train Travel Is Digital
RailOne is not just another railway app—it is part of a broader digital transformation of Indian Railways. Minister Vaishnaw highlighted that the next-gen Passenger Reservation System (PRS) is in the works, promising faster, multilingual service with capabilities to handle 1.5 lakh ticket bookings per minute.
With the rollout of RailOne and new policies, Indian Railways is clearly on a mission to build a smarter, more passenger-centric system.
