US President Donald Trump has said that the ongoing conflict involving Iran could conclude in the near future, while also issuing a stern warning to Tehran not to escalate the situation further. Speaking to reporters during a press conference in Florida on Tuesday, Trump described the military action as a limited operation and suggested that the confrontation may soon come to an end. “It’s going to be ended soon, and if it starts again they will be hit even harder,” Trump said, adding that the operation was a necessary step taken by the United States and its allies.
Trump Calls Military Action a “Short-Term Excursion”
During his remarks, the US president referred to the military campaign as a “short-term excursion,” suggesting that the strikes were carried out to neutralize certain threats. Trump stated that the action was taken because US intelligence believed it was necessary to eliminate dangerous elements that could have posed a serious threat to the region. He expressed confidence that the conflict would not last long and indicated that the military goals had largely been achieved.
Strong Warning to Tehran
In a separate interview with CBS News, Trump issued a direct warning to Iran’s leadership, saying that any attempt to retaliate or escalate the conflict would bring severe consequences. According to Trump, Iran had already used most of its military capabilities during the conflict. He claimed the country had suffered major setbacks in its naval, communication, and air force capabilities. “If they try anything again, it would be the end of that country,” Trump said during the interview, emphasizing that the United States would respond decisively to any further aggression.
US Claims Major Damage to Iranian Military Infrastructure
Trump also said that US and allied forces had destroyed a significant portion of Iran’s missile launch systems during the operation. He claimed that nearly 80 percent of the missile sites and launchers had been eliminated, leaving Iran with limited ability to launch large-scale attacks. The president praised the US military for what he described as an “amazing” operation, saying their actions had significantly reduced the threat posed by Iran in the region.
Conflict Escalated After Late February Strikes
The military confrontation intensified after joint strikes carried out by the United States and Israel on February 28. The attacks targeted several locations believed to be connected to Iran’s missile capabilities. Trump argued that the strikes were necessary to prevent a larger attack that he claims Iran was preparing. He said intelligence reports suggested that Iran was planning a major offensive targeting Israel and other countries in the Middle East.

Despite the president’s comments about the war nearing its end, the Pentagon posted on social media shortly afterward that the United States had “only just begun to fight,” highlighting ongoing military readiness. The situation remains tense as global observers watch closely to see whether the conflict will indeed move toward a quick resolution or escalate further.
