Ranveer Singh and director Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar has created history at the North American box office. The film has officially surpassed Prabhas’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion to register the highest-ever second Friday collection for an Indian film in the region.
According to early evening figures, Dhurandhar crossed USD 830,000 on its second Friday, narrowly beating Baahubali 2’s long-standing record of USD 828,000. The achievement comes nearly eight years after SS Rajamouli’s epic set the benchmark, making the moment even more significant for Indian cinema overseas.
Baahubali 2 was more than just a blockbuster. It redefined the global potential of Indian films, particularly in North America, where its sustained audience turnout reflected exceptional word-of-mouth at a time when the overseas market was far less crowded. The film still holds the record as the highest-grossing Indian movie in the territory, with a lifetime collection of around USD 22 million.
Dhurandhar’s run so far has been nothing short of remarkable. The film opened with USD 522,000 on its first Friday and saw a massive jump over the weekend, collecting USD 852,000 across Saturday and Sunday. While Monday saw a slight dip to USD 489,000, collections bounced back strongly on Tuesday with USD 597,000. Wednesday brought in USD 581,000, followed by USD 528,000 on Thursday. The first week closed at approximately USD 4.4 million.
With the second Friday numbers pushing past USD 830,000 by early evening, Dhurandhar has now crossed the USD 5 million mark in North America, cementing its position as one of the strongest overseas performers in recent years.

North America has consistently been a strong market for Ranveer Singh. His earlier releases, including Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, crossed USD 10 million, while Padmaavat earned over USD 12 million in the circuit. Dhurandhar appears well on track to continue that trend.
The film also boasts a powerful ensemble cast featuring Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, and Gaurav Gera, adding to its strong audience appeal.
