Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the BJP’s strong performance in the Bihar elections with a pointed message: Bihar has rejected the old model of divisive politics and embraced a new vision rooted in women and youth power.
Addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, the Prime Minister declared that the result reflects a shift from the traditional “M-Y” (Muslim-Yadav) equation to a new, positive “M-Y” — “Mahila-Youth”. According to Modi, this new alignment represents the aspirations of one of India’s youngest populations and cuts across caste and religious lines.
“Bihar has shown that it won’t be pulled back into ‘Jungle Raj’. The people have instead chosen unity and possibilities,” PM Modi said, adding that the confidence shown in the BJP is a sign of the state’s desire for development over division.
With a playful nod to Bihar’s cultural roots, the PM waved a gamcha and invoked “Chhathi Maiya ki Jai”. He followed it up with a popular phrase in Bhojpuri — “garda uda diya” — to describe the sweeping impact of the BJP’s performance.
In a sharp attack on the Congress, Modi labeled the party as the “Muslim League Maoist Congress (MMC)”, suggesting it has lost its ideological roots. He predicted internal fractures within Congress, saying many party members are distancing themselves from the leadership’s divisive direction.
The Prime Minister also praised JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar and other NDA allies, including Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha, for their efforts in securing a decisive victory.
The results, he said, underline a growing push for inclusive growth and a rejection of political agendas centered on fear and identity.
